The Trouble with Demons Boxed Set

The Trouble With Demons by Julie Kenner is a three-book boxed set for .99. This set includes five books in the Demon Hunting Soccer Mom series, starting with Carpe Demon. The series has been optioned for television, and the books in the series average between 3.6 and 3.9 stars on GoodReads. They’re a mix of paranormal, action adventure, and romantic comedy – so if that sounds like your kind of reading, five books for just under $1 is a great deal!

The Trouble With Demons contains the first five books in Julie Kenner’s Demon-Hunting Soccer Mom Series:

Carpe Demon
California Demon
Demons Are Forever
Deja Demon
Demon Ex Machina

Kate Connor is your average, everyday mom with two kids, a husband, and one very big secret … she used to be a Demon Hunter. Now retired, she’s more interested in the domestic than the demonic. So when she catches sight of a demon in Wal-Mart, she tells herself it’s some other Hunter’s problem. But when that demon attacks her in her kitchen, retirement is no longer an option…

Sarah, Plain and Tall

Sarah, Plain and Tall by Patricia MacLachlan is $1.99 digitally. Oh, gosh, I have such warm fuzzy memories of this book, and of the tv movies starring Glenn Close and Christopher Walken. This is a classic YA historical that won the Newbery medal in 1986. It’s about a woman (Sarah, who describes herself as plain and tall, hence the title) who answers an advertisement seeking a wife and mother from a widower in Kansas. It’s incredibly touching, and is told from the perspective of Anna, the older of the two children.

“Did Mama sing every day?” Caleb asks his sister Anna.

“Every-single-day,” she answers. “Papa sang, too.”

This Newbery Medal–winning book is the first of five books in Patricia MacLachlan’s chapter book series about the Witting family. Set in the late nineteenth century and told from young Anna’s point of view, Sarah, Plain and Tall tells the story of how Sarah Elisabeth Wheaton comes from Maine to the prairie to answer Papa’s advertisement for a wife and mother. Before Sarah arrives, Anna and her younger brother Caleb wait and wonder. Will Sarah be nice? Will she sing? Will she stay?

This children’s literature classic is perfect for fans of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s Little House on the Prairie books, historical fiction, and timeless stories using rich and beautiful language. Sarah, Plain and Tall gently explores themes of abandonment, loss and love.

Just One Taste is an anthology from author Maggie Robinson, priced at .99. This is a collection of contemporary, historical and paranormal romances, and includes five novellas and five short stories, all unique to this anthology and never before published. A novice shape-shifting panther discovers his reluctant life mate on a secluded Maine island. A suburban Connecticut divorcee’s high school nemesis heals her heart. And a dominant viscount finds a remarkably submissive wife in Regency England. Plus five sexy, fun historical short stories.

Cover Me Boxed Set

Cover Me Boxed Set: The Complete Trilogy by LA Witt is free right now for a limited time. This boxed set features books 1-3 in the Cover Me series, which are m/m mystery/thriller/suspense romances. The boxed set has a 3.7- star average, and each book has 3.7+ stars as well. I know several fans of LA Witt’s writing, especially her speculative fiction romance, Static, which Carrie reviewed here last year. A free boxed set of three of Witt’s books is sure to make a lot of readers happy.

The Cover Me Boxed Set contains all three volumes of L.A. Witt’s M/M romantic thriller series.

Cover Me

When paramedic Nick Swain responds to a shooting in a seedy neighborhood, his entire world is thrown off its axis. His life is threatened…twice. Allegations of racism and medical neglect threaten his career and his ability to sleep at night. Not that he’ll be sleeping any time soon after the incident throws him into the path—and arms—of Detective Andrew Carmichael.

One hot night after another with Andrew may help Nick relieve some work-related stress, but sex won’t solve every problem in his life. With the media hounding him and the city watching his every move, he starts to wonder if the world is out to get him.

The world may not be out to get him, but someone is.

And that someone wants Nick dead.

Trust Me

On the scene of a multiple murder that’s grisly even for a veteran homicide detective, Brian Clifton is stunned when one of the victims bears an uncanny resemblance to his boyfriend, James. As the similarities keep piling up, so do the bodies… and the evidence pointing to James as the killer.

Since long before the shooting, James has been dishonest. He’s been evasive. Oh, and there’s that minor detail he withheld from Brian about being a gambling-addicted drug dealer.
James may not be the best boyfriend in the world, but he begs Brian to believe he’s no killer. In fact, whoever did pull the trigger undoubtedly wants to finish what they started, and Brian is the only one James trusts to keep him safe.

But how much is Brian willing to risk to protect a man he may not even know?

Search Me

In the beginning, Detective Andrew Carmichael and paramedic Nick Swain barely escaped Nick’s delusional stalker with their lives. Now, months later, the physical scars haven’t quite healed, and neither have the emotional ones. Lingering guilt and resentment threaten to tear their relationship apart, but Andrew isn’t ready to give up. He’s nearly lost Nick once, and he’s not giving him up this time without a fight.

In a last ditch effort to keep them together, Andrew suggests a weekend away, but is that enough time to find a reason to keep their relationship alive?

Or is it time to let Nick walk away?

All three books at one low price!
